Pessimist - Death From Above (GER/2013)Īt first glimpse this album may not seem like much, however as you continue to listen to it you start noticing small little details that make this album truly great.ĭespite being almost unfairly short (26 minutes in total) the album has a lot to offer, particularly if you are a fan of a more raw and old school sound. Another goal of this list is to shed light on some lesser known bands of the genre that has some of the most sterile bands at its forefront.ġ0. There isn't a single Big 4 album on this list, because none of those bands realeased a thrash metal record that is among the best in the genre. ![]() A good amount of these albums aren't straightforward thrash metal either and have a tinge of black metal, death metal or hardcore punk in it. What you'll notice is that list features some bands, that in case you're not that deep into thrash metal, you probably haven't heard of (not that I claim that I am a thrash metal expert or anything). This post may come as a surprise to some people that are familiar with my distaste for thrash metal and while I do consider the majority of thrash metal to be bland and uninteresting, there are bands that do it right and are capable of producing records that are among the best in the whole metal genre.
